In 2002 Malibu Boats will provide a showcase for the world's best wakeboard and water ski athletes through the Malibu Just Ride Series and the Malibu Open.
There will be two Malibu Just Ride Series events coming this summer. High Point, North Carolina will host the first event, June 1-2. Minneapolis, Minnesota will be the site for the second event, June 22-23.
The Just Ride Series is a wakeboard-only event where the world's top wakeboarders come together with the traditional competition format thrown out the window. Top athletes earn their way in, then show the fans moves too dangerous for competition.
The Malibu Open began in 2001 at Water's Edge just outside of Chicago, Illinois. This year, the Malibu Open will take place in Sacramento, California at the Bell Acqua Water Skiing facility, August 19-21.
Bell Acqua was the site of the 2000 U.S. Open Wakeboard and Water Ski Championship, also presented by Malibu.
