Centurion signs Kansas State University

The Kansas State University Waterski Team is the second of many collegiate water ski teams to sign onto Centurion’s new collegiate and promotional team. Now training behind their 2002 Open Bow LaPoint, Kansas State is once again looking at being a powerhouse team in the NCWSA’s Midwest Region in 2002.

Since 1983, Kansas State has competed in the Midwest Region of the National Collegiate Water Ski Association (NCWSA) against teams like Purdue, Michigan, and Michigan State. 2001 was the Wildcats breakthrough year as they claimed the 2002 Midwest Regional Championship trophy and gained a berth at the 2001 Collegiate National Water Ski Championship held this past October in Tempe, AZ.

In their very first year at the National Championships, Kansas State skied their way to 10th place and also received the NCWSA Team of the Year award from United States Water Ski (USAWS). “They (Kansas State) qualified for nationals for the first time and placed 10th...not many first time national teams can say that,” comments Centurion Midwest Sales Representative, Rick Eberhart.

Kansas State plays host April 20-21, 2002 to the 6th Annual KSU Invitational Collegiate Tournament at Super Lake in Emporia, Kansas and looks to qualify a number of skiers for the 2002 NCWSA All-Star Tournament on May 17-19, 2002.
