Militia Boot Camp

The Midwest Militia proudly presents Boot Camp, July 19th-21st at Ms. Kate’s bar and grill in Ottawa, Illinois. This first annual wakeboarding/extreme sports festival is guaranteed to have something for everyone.

The Site

Ms. Kate’s is situated on a backwater channel of the Illinois River, with over 1,000 feet of shoreline. This means that everyone will have a great view of the glassy water that this channel provides. Nowhere else on the river will you find water this calm. There is also going to be camping right at Ms. Kate’s, for those people who never want to leave the action.

The Events

There will be something for everyone at Boot Camp. There will be a wakeboarding competition, volleyball tournaments, live bands, raffles, auctions, free give-aways, a pig roast, a parade of boats, product demos, clinics, and much, much more. Gator Lutgert will be attending Boot Camp, and will be staying throughout the duration of the weekend. Gator will be conducting clinics throughout the weekend, and everyone will have the opportunity to demo new products from GB. Munson Ski and Inboards has been kind enough to provide us with both a brand new X-Star and a Wakesetter VLX to provide the pull for the wakeboarding competition. Speaking of the wakeboard competition, there are prizes for every division, from beginner to advanced. As a matter of fact, there are so many prizes being given away, nobody should go home empty handed.

Accommodations

As mentioned before, there is camping available right on the water’s edge at Ms. Kate’s. The camping is $30 for two nights, and that includes two t-shirts, two tickets to the pig roast, and an automatic entry into the raffle. Camping is first come first served, so make your reservations early, because the best spots will go quick. You can make reservations on our website at www.midwestmilitia.net. If camping is not your thing, we have a list of area hotels that are within 5 minutes of Ms. Kate’s.

It looks like Boot Camp will be huge this year. As the date approaches, we will keep everyone informed of what’s going on and what’s new. Check our website regularly for news.
