(Merced, CA) - The Wakesetter XTi boom of 2002 spurred the creation of a shorter stockier version of the "Tow Boat of the Year" award winner. The Wakesetter 21 XTi was born from another award winning innovation that Malibu Boats believed could be even better. Making its debut on the Malibu production line this summer, the Wakesetter 21 XTi is tailgating greatness and preparing to pass.
The newest cross-trainer to grab a spot in the Malibu line-up measures 21 feet in length and rivals the wakeboard performance of the Wakesetter VLX. The perfect answer for any rider, the Wakesetter 21 XTi boasts World Class wakes, party seating, precise direct-drive handling and pimpin' look.
Power that beats with the heart of a center-mounted 310 Vortec engine drives the Wakesetter 21 XTi's wave-making SV23 Wake Hull. The same hull that trenches up walls of water behind the Wakesetter VLX makes it home beneath the Wakesetter 21 XTi. Accompanied by Malibu's Wedge 23 and the midship Malibu Launch System (MLS), the new Wakesetter 21 XTi can dig through water with a sinking 1500lbs of down force right off the show room floor. Lasso a standard Titan or Swoop tower and the Wakesetter 21 XTi offers enough board launching power to attract even the biggest air riders.
Riders will agree the bottomless storage of the Wakesetter 21 XTi makes hauling people and gear a non-issue. The gunnel net storage is perfect for those smaller items that are normally lost in large enclosed storage cubbies. The deep storage channels extending along the side the center-mounted engine beneath the party lounge to the back of the boat will accommodate those larger items that need to be stowed. There is also another large storage cavity behind the oversized observer seat and even more space reserved for storage on either side of the Wakesetter 21 XTi bow. The storage in this boat runs as deep as the comfort.
After a rippin' big air session the Wakesetter 21 XTi interior comforts riders with a plush recovery area. Complete with a spacious rear party lounge and quenching refreshment console, the Wakesetter 21 XTi provides the perfect surroundings for spent riders. The wraparound lounge will accommodate as many as five adults and give them easy access to a chilling 27-quart ice chest, oversized drink holders, in-your-face Infinity sound and optional stereo and heater controls. Set up the table and loungers can enjoy a good game of cards or a snack before the next ride.
A world away from the partying of the rear lounge in another social space of the Wakesetter 21 XTi, the driver and 1-3 observers can enjoy an experience all their own. The driver tucks snuggly into the supportive driver's seat equipped with automotive style adjustable lumbar and six position swivel. Turning toward the enormous observer's seat the driver could benefit from up to three friends at his or her side. Facing forward the driver commands the Wakesetter 21 XTi with complete control. Malibu engineers designed the helm with extreme ergonomics in mind. While driving the Wakesetter 21 XTi, not one movement is wasted. Gauges are an eye catching 5.5 inches in diameter while switches are one quick motion away from the molded steering wheel.
When the driver needs a rest there's always the spacious Wakesetter 21 XTi bow. Plenty of room and a removable filler cushion make the bow the perfect escape to yet another secluded social area of the Wakesetter 21 XTi.
With all passengers seated and all gear stowed the ride begins. The agile Wakesetter 21 XTi partners a direct-drive engine with Malibu's Instantaneous Response Technology (IRT) complete with rack and pinion steering. The Wakesetter 21 XTi look is diamond studded for 2003. The entire boat is marked with accents of stainless steel. The rubrail carries polished stainless all the around the boat while shinning through holes dot the sides.
