If you have not heard of 484 wakeskates by now, you should definitely check this company out. 484 is a small company based in Southern California and have an arsenal of skates from the "El Cheapo" to "El Cuatro".

The staff here at WakePics.com got a chance to demo the Concave 41, by 484 and let me start out by saying the guys at 484 are definitely on to something innovative- an innovation that could and should carry over to the wakeboard market.

The Concave 41 wakeskate comes with a stencil of skull and crossbones, along with some pretty amusing instructions. The next thing we came across was fins for the board. I was a bit puzzled as they did not appear to be ordinary. They had several mounting holes yet were a standard shape and size. Why would you have four screw holes to hold the fin on the board? Because you can adjust the position of the fin, by how far forward or backward the fin is placed. I haven’t seen this on any type of board before and I hope this technology paints its way into 2004 lineups. This is definitely a plus because it allows you to change the amount of edge control you have with the board. Another prominent feature that we liked was the concave shape of the board. With all the different wakeskates out, a concaved deck is in a class all their own. It gives the wakeskate a skateboard’s feel.

We called up a few friends and decided to hit the water and put this thing to the test. From basic moves like edging into the wake and other simple lip tricks, all the way to shuvits and body varials, the board was a performer! From beginner to advanced wakeskater we all had a blast riding the new deck.

The concave 484 wakeskate series conveniently features 4 different size models ranging from 40, 41, 42 and the 43 inches. Each one comes complete with fins and stencil, so that you can customize your board to your liking.

By far, the feature that puts 484 ahead of all the other manufacturers putting out concave decks is the adjustable fin system. This idea allows you to truly customize the board to your own skating style. So whether you are looking for a new skate to replace your old flat skate or you just want a new deck make sure to check 484 out- they put out a very solid product.
