Relentless Video Review

Relentless: The Liquid Force team video that will change your outlook on wakeboarding. There will always be a riding video that when you are bored you just want to throw it in to get you stoked on the sport. For me that video was Shafted- well no more. Relentless fills all major requirements for an epic film. Location, riders, tricks, and editing: this video has it all and shows it off.

Riding
Watson = Kills it. Watson starts it off with a killer set. From the Ole 5s to stanked out nines Watson proves why he is one of the major forces on the team. Be prepared to drop your jaw at the extra biggie fry backside 7 and the fluidity of his riding.

Ben Greenwood follows Watson, which at times can be a damn hard act to follow but as you will see he is easily up for the challenge. Phillip Soven follows Greenwood, and you’ll learn why you never want to hook your toe edge on a rail… After you recover from the 25mph wood face plant make sure you focus on his Whirly Dick- which is basically a whirly + backside 3 combo.

Cody Hall is next up on the roster and leads with his ‘Left coast for life, bitch’ mentality. He throws in some above par rail work- from kinked to nose pressed, he’s dialed in. Following Hall is Harrington, throwing together some solid riding on both skate and board. Mike Ennen follows Hall and Harrington and proceeds to murder it. When I say murder, I mean just straight kill it. 100% style and 0% fluff. It’s truly a west-coast-grab-it-all-the-time show, but well worth it.

Melissa Marquardt follows Mike and throws some killer spins along with a couple toeside rolls to blind. You’ll also see another rail victim. Stiches. I’d rather take it to the leg instead of the face though, sorry Mr. Soven. This dude named Perry Richmond follow Melissa and I find it hard to believe how I’ve never heard about this guy before, but he’s got some great style. Kyle Schmidt and Tim Kovacich share the section and do a phenomenal job showcasing both riding and skating.

Necrasson starts off his set with a signature doubleup stalefish. Sick. Since the days of huge elephants to the insanely corked out backside threes, Necrasson has always added style and flavor to his riding, and it is nice to see him add his own twist. Kevin Henshaw and Steve McKinnley provide another west coast performance which highlights “up and comers” and the different ways they bring their game to the pro level.

Shane Bonifay and some of his insane backside off-axis sevens tell you why he tends to steal the camera, it could also be his plaid tux… Shane’s section is, as usual, off the hook, and you get to see versions of tricks and grabs never done before. His style, performance, and character are unmatched.

Opinions
From Neil Young to Pennywise the soundtrack fits every single section, yet there is enough differentiation between songs that leads the listener to appreciate the different themes the soundtrack provides. The cinematography is intense with visual effects to please just about everyone, and from wide to tight it truly adds to the experience. As I said in the beginning, this is the next video you need to own, and it will shortly become the standard ‘stoke’ video you’ll throw in when you want to get amped with your friends.
