ABILENE, TX – Tigé Boats hosted more than 1,200 people August 26 to a gala celebration showcasing the impressive new Tigé world headquarters and manufacturing facility.

Billed as "Tigé...the people, the passion...the PARTY", the celebration drew Tigé dealers, vendors, owners and other friends from as far away as Europe and Japan. The centerpiece of the event was the state-of-the-art 130,000 square-foot Tigé complex that opened in January 2006. Partygoers were greeted by valet parking at the entrance to the company’s contemporary corporate offices. Following a trademark orange carpet, guests were led on a self-guided tour of Tigé offices and the entire manufacturing complex that covers the length of two football fields. Along the way, posters and Tigé personnel explained the boatbuilding process and the key elements that differentiate Tigé from other boats.

The tour ended in the main Tigé assembly building which had been transformed into a stylish party hall complete with video screens, stage and mood lighting throughout the 330-foot building. A video presentation chronicled the history of Tigé, which originated in California in 1991 and moved its headquarters and manufacturing to Abilene, Texas in 1994. Tigé employed 35 Abilene residents in 1995. The Tigé payroll has grown substantially through the years to its current level of more than 225.

Following the video, Tigé CEO Charlie Pigeon thanked the many individuals, organizations and family members who have supported Tigé through the years and contributed to the company’s success.

"Tigé has come a long way in just 15 years," Pigeon said after the party, "and this party was a great way to celebrate our success and thank everyone who has been a part of it."

The more than 1,200 guests included Tigé dealers who had attended the company’s 2007 Tigé Dealer meeting August 23 – 25 in Abilene. The three-day meeting centered on the new Tigé headquarters, heralded as the world’s most advanced inboard manufacturing plant. The state-of-the-art three-building complex tripled Tigé’s manufacturing capacity and has dramatically boosted production efficiency and product quality. After moving to the new facility in January, Tigé production grew 50% by May and continues to increase to keep up with the phenomenal demand for Tigé boats.

Tigé currently manufactures seven multi-sport inboard models ranging from 20 to 24 feet. Tigé innovations include the patented Tigé ConvexV hull and TAPS2 technology that have dramatically expanded inboard performance, multi-sport versatility and user convenience. All Tigé models are backed by the Tigé LifePlus Lifetime Replacement Warranty, the only replacement warranty in the industry. Tigé has more than 80 dealers in 11 countries.
